Opened in 2004, the purpose of the North Coast Veterans Museum (a
nonprofit society) is to collect, preserve and display the military
history of the north coast area. In addition, the museum's goal is to be
a service to scholars, students, past and present members of all uniform
military and to the general public
The dramatic and colorful military history begins with WWI doughboys and
continues to this day. There is something at the museum for everyone -
kids to seniors. Visitors can view displays of everything from uniforms
to weapons to equipment and personal items, and as a result, gain a
better understanding of the contributions made by our local veterans to
the cause of freedom.
The Museum Theme is
"Lest We Forget"
It is a tribute to those who have served in the uniformed service of the
United States, especially those who have lost their lives in combat or
training.
Museum Library
The North Coast Veteran's Museum is building a reference library of old
and new books and military and personal memorabilia. The library can be
used for research by museum staff, and when completed, by the public.
